LOS ANGELES (TND) — A flash mob hit a retail store taking about $12,000 in merchandise with them.
It happened at a Nike store in a Los Angeles neighborhood known as Watts.
The 17-person flash mob showed up to the retail store on Sunday with trash bags and got away with clothing and boxes of shoes while customers looked on, according to Los Angeles police.
A woman is heard telling the thieves, “you all are ghetto as [expletive]. We can’t have [expletive] up in here.”
Filled trash bags didn’t stop the thieves. Some of them are seen grabbing arms full of clothing while running out the store.
Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the individuals involved in the grand theft incident.
The thieves faces masked, but detectives hope they can be identified by their clothing.
One thief was described as wearing a distinct hooded-sweatshirt with a logo of a bonsai tree and the words, “Ritual of the Spirit.”
There were four females and 13 males, Black, ranging in age from 15 to 20.
The vehicles used in the robbery were described as a tan Infiniti four-door, a gray KIA SUV, a white Honda, a KIA four-door, and a black Audi.
