The special event, hosted by Uniworld President & CEO Ellen Bettridge, will take place Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 7:00pm EDT and will feature interviews with two past 2023 ‘Rivers of the World’ guests, as well as a closer look at the 55-day itinerary via ship tours and sessions with destination experts.
The sailing departs on October 3, 2024, from Lima, Peru and will take 40 guests on a once-in-a-lifetime journey spanning three continents, 10 countries, and four luxurious ships.
“We’re delighted to present a closer look at our second Rivers of the World sailing, back by popular demand for 2024, and our biggest yet.” said Bettridge. “Our past guests and destination experts know our product better than anyone, and they are excited to share details on the experience and four distinct components of this itinerary — South America, Central Europe, France, and Southeast Asia, including two brand-new destinations for Uniworld.”
Over the course of the preview event, attendees will be treated to a comprehensive look at each stop on the nearly eight-week long itinerary that begins in Peru and concludes in Ho Chi Minh City.
Led by destination experts with a passion for travel, viewers will learn what spectacular sights and sounds Rivers of the World passengers can expect as they sail across the world, such as onboard activities, guest appearances, exclusive offshore excursions and more.
Attendees will also be given a virtual tour of the four luxurious ships included in the journey, each a distinct floating hotel designed to reflect the destinations in which they sail. Finally, attendees will get to hear from two past guests that experienced the inaugural Rivers of the World journey in 2023, with interviews that will shed light on their experience.
The 2024 Rivers of the World journey begins in Lima, followed by a week-long cruise through the Peruvian Amazon. Then, guests will continue their journey on land with stays in luxurious hotels and explore the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, and more.
Continuing on, the group will head to Amsterdam to cruise the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers on board the S.S. Beatrice, experiencing four distinct countries in Central Europe before making their way to France to board the S.S. Catherine. For seven nights, guests will indulge in fine French cuisine and wine throughout the famous wine region of Burgundy and Provence.
Finally, guests will head to Hanoi in Southeast Asia, where they will enjoy an overnight cruise in UNESCO World Heritage site, Halong Bay and a private candlelight dinner before embarking on Uniworld’s Mekong Jewel, to experience the splendor of the Mekong River. The fourth and final cruise of the journey will disembark in My Tho, where guests will then transfer to their final land stay in Ho Chi Minh City. After travelling the world together, guests will bid adieu with a rooftop gala dinner complete with spectacular views of the Saigon skyline.
