Wolf, ranked No 99, won against Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel (6-2, 6-3), Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 6 seed (6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3) and Dane Holger Rune, the No 9 seed (7-5, 4-6, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Citi Open, Washington D.C.
