Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, has died, aged 19, his mother announced on social media. De Niro’s daughter, Drena, mourned the loss of her son in an Instagram post. “You have been my joy, my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life. I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light you made me feel in getting to be your mama. I wish that love alone could have saved you,” said Drena De Niro. She tagged her son’s father, Carlos Rodriguez, in the post, concluding by saying, “rest in peace and eternal paradise my darling boy.” While no cause of death was shared, De Niro, in a statement given to CNN, asked for privacy for his family during this difficult time. “I’m deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo. We’re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve the loss of Leo,” said De Niro. Leandro was also an actor who appeared in 2018 hit movie, ‘A Star Is Born,’ starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
