Mavericks vs. Thunder score: Live updates, Game 5 highlights with OKC looking to take 3-2 series lead

Must read

The top-seeded Oklahoma Thunder are coming off a big win over the Dallas Mavericks and can push them to the brink of elimination when they meet on Wednesday for Game 5 of their second-round series. The Mavs handed the Thunder their first two losses of the 2024 playoffs in Games 2 and 3 before OKC staged a fourth-quarter rally on Monday to pull out a 100-96 victory and knot the series at two apiece.

With two of the next three potential games at Oklahoma City, the Thunder can once again see a path forward to their first Western Conference final since 2016. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the difference in Monday’s win as he scored 22 of his 34 points in the second half. It was his third consecutive game of at least 30 in the series.

The Mavericks’ Luka Doncic was held to 18 points on 6-of-20 shooting in Game 4 and Kyrie Irving was held to nine points. Doncic did post a triple-double (12 rebounds and 10 assists) but both players will have to show up in Boston, or else the Mavs will be in a do-or-die situation for Game 6.
