VILNIUS (Lithuania) – Lithuania will twice meet international hoops heavyweights France, juggernauts Finland and battle-hardened Jordan as part of a 10-game warm-up schedule for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
The Baltic side, No. 8 in the FIBA World Ranking, will be getting ready for a First Round, Group D World Cup campaign against Egypt, Mexico and Montenegro.
The first four preparation games will be at home. Lithuania will host Jordan on July 22 (Alytus) and July 24 (site to be announced), then Ukraine on July 29 (Panevezys) and Georgia on August 1 (Kaunas).
They will hit the road and play friendlies at Finland on August 4 (Tampere) and at France (August 9).
Lithuania will return home to square off against France again, on August 11 (Vilnius) and then meet Finland a second time on August 14 (Klaipeda).
Their last two warm-up games will be in Chinese Taipei against Puerto Rico on August 19 and Latvia on August 22.
Lithuania will then travel to Manila and tip off their World Cup campaign on August 25 against Egypt at the Mall of Asia Arena.
If Lithuania finish in the top two of Group D, they would then play in the Second Round against the top two sides from Group C, which consists of USA, Greece, New Zealand and Jordan.
