The mega event of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is all set to begin in a couple of weeks time in India. Ten teams will be reaching India to participate for the biggest tournament in cricket. The tournament will start on October 5, when defending champions England will face New Zealand in the opening game at the Narendra Modi Stadium. India will play their first match on October 8 in Chennai against Australia.
All ten teams will play nine games each in the round-robin format, and the top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals. The tournament will see a total of 48 games, with the final scheduled to played on November 19 in Ahemedabad. However, prior to the tournament starting, all ten participants will play two warm-up games to adjust to the conditions.
Before the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, teams will be announcing their squads and revealing their kits for the mega event. A number of teams have already announced their squads, while some teams have also revealed their jerseys for the upcoming event. The Black Caps recently revealed their official kit for the coming World Cup 2023. It is their traditional black kit. The black kit that has vertical lines on it New Zealand Cricket shared glimpses of the World Cup kit on social media, with Trent Boult, Tom Latham, and Lockie Ferguson wearing the new jersey.
Pakistan were the first team to reveal their jersey for the upcoming event. They will be wearing mainly a dark green strip, which will have a yellow star at the top corner, shining brightly. The Pakistan Cricket Board stated while releasing the kit that this jersey will represent the concept of “Star Nation Jersey,” which will express the connection between cricketing heroes and the dedicated fans.
