The Grand National weights have been published ahead of the latest renewal of the world-famous race at Aintree.
A total of 57 horses still hold entries for the marathon contest and last year’s runner-up, Any Second Now tops the list off a handicap mark of 167. The 11-year-old will be the only runner to carry 11st 12lb after Conflated and Hewick were scratched on Tuesday, March 28.
Noble Yeats, the winner of last year’s Grand National, is next in the handicap with a rating of 166 – 19lb higher than 12 months ago – and will have to lug 11st 11lb around Aintree.
A maximum field of 40 runners can take part in the Grand National and the last horse set to make the cut is Eva’s Oskar, who is set to carry 10st 1lb.
Delta Work, who finished third behind Noble Yeats in last year’s renewal, is rated 159 by the BHA handicapper and will carry 11st 4lb.
Other notable horses include dual Ultima Handicap Chase hero Corach Rambler (10st 5lb), Punchestown Grand National Trial winner Coko Beach (11st) and Haydock Grand National Trial heroine Quick Wave (10st 11lb).
Minella Times was due to be the only other former winner in the Grand National field but the 2021 hero has been retired after suffering a setback.
The Grand National entries are set to be whittled down at the five-day confirmation stage Monday, April 10. The deadline for final declarations is 10:00 BST on Thursday, April 13.
