Hairdressing icon wins big
Kerrie Jordan, owner of KN Hair CoLab, won two events at The Industry Awards in Auckland.
She took home the Derek Elvy Avant-Garde Visionary Award and Editorial Stylist of the Year.
There were 400 stylists nationwide competing, seven from New Plymouth, four of whom came from KN Hair CoLab.
“A huge heartfelt thank you for the love, respect and recognition I have received. This industry is my passion and purpose, and I am incredibly honoured to represent the creativity of hairdressing in NZ,” Jordan said.
Think Tank conference comes to Taranaki.
After the travails of keeping a hotel group going during the worst of the Covid pandemic, Gavin Faull is showing appreciation to top managers of his Swiss-Belhotel International company – which owns and manages 125 hotels across Asia, the Middle East and Australasia – by bringing them to New Zealand (and Taranaki) for a week-long gathering he’s calling “Think Tank Live”.
Following sessions in Auckland, the 20-strong party will drive down to Waitomo Caves and then on to New Plymouth’s Nice Hotel on Tuesday, November 28.
Their time in Taranaki will include a welcome onto Owae Marae in Waitara, a visit to Faull Farms in Tikorangi, a presentation on Māori culture by Dene Ainsworth and the art of sculpture by Rangi Bailey, and a visit up Taranaki Maunga.
